Beauty Therapy

In my darkest moments, when I could barely get out of bed, the one thing that sustained me is beauty.  A bouquet of flowers, watching the moonlight, meditating on the bubbles running up a frosty glass of mineral water, crystal prisms, the endless grace of my cats, and so many other things that I seek to enjoy.  Beauty is healing and sustaining.  There's always a butterfly in the backyard that will cheer me up, or an elusive glimpse at a fox or baby deer.  Beauty is one of the few things in life that is free if you seek it out all around you, and create it in your home and at work.  Sometimes we filter so much noise out, that we forget that there's some beauty in there too.  It might be hot and humid out, but tonight, there will be fireflies.

This is a hodgepodge mix of beautiful, bittersweet, and sustaining things to enjoy!

The body positive movement is about loving your natural body shape. This is just one blog of many on this subject. You can be healthy at your size right now, labels like under and over weight just stand in the way of making healthy choices.

Beautiful poetry, an empowering work of art.

"Upon suffering beyond suffering; the Red Nation shall rise again and it shall be a blessing for a sick world.

A world filled with broken promises, selfishness and separations.

A world longing for light again.

I see a time of seven generations when all the colors of mankind will gather under the sacred Tree of Life and the whole Earth will become one circle again.

In that day there will be those among the Lakota who will carry knowledge and understanding of unity among all living things, and the young white ones will come to those of my people and ask for this wisdom.

I salute the light within your eyes where the whole universe dwells.

For when you are at that center within you and I am in that place within me, we shall be as one."  -- Prophecy of Crazy Horse
"Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud." - Maya Angelou

"Do I contradict myself?  Very well then I contradict myself.  I am large, I contain multitudes." - Walt Whitman
"To hold a pen is to be at war."  - Voltaire
"You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it." - Robin Williams

Music for Healing

For watching/ meditating/ sleeping:

I actually bought this Pachelbel arrangement, years ago, so I don't know if you can still buy it, very nice on repeat/ loop.

My mom and I used to listen to this one on cassettes, it's one of the best relaxation oldies I know about.
